Italy’s consumer price inflation eased slightly in September, preliminary data from the statistical office Istat revealed Friday.
Consumer prices climbed 1.1 percent year-over-year in September, just below the 1.2 percent rise in August.
Excluding energy and unprocessed food, core inflation moderated to 0.7 percent in September from 1.0 percent in the prior month.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.3 percent in September.
Inflation, based on the harmonized index of consumer prices was 1.3 percent in September versus 1.4 percent in August.
The rate came in line with expectations. Month-on-month, the HICP grew 1.8 percent.
