Italy’s retail sales declined in July on weak non-food turnover, data from the statistical office Istat showed Wednesday.
Retail sales dropped 0.2 percent month-on-month in July, reversing a 0.6 percent rise in June.
Food sales edged up 0.1 percent, while non-food sales declined 0.3 percent in July.
On a yearly basis, retail sales remained flat in July after expanding 1.3 percent in the previous month.
Data showed that the volume of retail trade decreased 0.2 percent in July from June and by 0.4 percent from the same period of previous year.
